Great article.

This is kind of off-topic, but what is your favorite soil conditioning fertilizer? I've tried Bio-Magic on my veggie garden, but I don't like the results. Anyone have suggestions?

According to one of the owners of Four Winds Growers (they sell citrus of all kinds), citrus are generally self-pollinating.

We do have two kaffir lime trees. However, our first tree consistently bore fruit for years before we got the second one. And Kasma has cooking students with single trees who get fruit for them. You might want to email the people at Four Winds Nursery and see what they say about why trees blossom but don't bear fruit: http://www.fourwindsgrowers.com/

You are the first person I know who owns kaffir lime tree that can bear fruit. Many of my friends and acquaintances who grew kaffir lime said that the tree bloomed but failed to bear fruit. I was wondering if you have two kaffir lime trees so that they can cross pollinate.

Indonesians call this jeruk PURUT not perut. Perut means stomach in bahasa Indonesia. Kaffir may be offensive because the word sounds similar to another word "kafir" that means heathen/unbeliever.
